I've heard of some ridiculous taxes (ok, "fees") but this takes the cake. Is the government that hard up for money in Dublin? Perhaps if they canned the TV tax then they wouldn't have to pay the inspectors. They might come out ahead in the long run. Good grief. We also are TVless and have been for many many years. Talk about a money grab. It is hard for some (read most) of people to understand how we can get along without one, but we manage just fine. MAybe you could ask for the inspectors to come in between supper and bed time so as not to disturb sleeping children. Who knew stuff like this actually happened?
