1) Throw it in the washer on hot.
2) You now have felt.
3) Fiddle with it, using somebody else’s hairbrush (not the spouse’s), until it’s smooth.
4) Trim it, if it’s too furry.
5) Sew a lining into it, if you want.

Remember that long-haired pets make felt if you don’t brush them often enough.
