I got it! I got it! I got it! Thanks so much, treater! I love everything you sent. What a great package. And yesterday was absolutely the best day to receive it. I was having a terrible day and you should have seen how my spirits were lifted, not to mention my blood sugar level. Thanks very much for being so generous and thoughtful. (I wrote a post about it just now on my blog.)

I love the pink you've used for your cable sweater.

Your mention of "Mr. Bean" reminded me of when my son was in second grade. We had rented a "Mr. Bean" movie, and my son loved making Mr. Bean faces, the goofy smile, etc. About that time, they had an awards ceremony at his school. The children would be called up in groups for different accomplishments. My son went up quite a lot....and everytime he stood with the other distinguished little children, he made Mr. Bean faces the entire time. I couldn't believe that my usually well-behaved little boy was being such a clown. I just smiled and pretended not to notice that my son appeared to have a few screws loose.

I'd say the cable sweater is beautiful! However, I can understand not really feeling inspired to knit on it in the warm weather.

Childhood reading - or for that matter reading to one's own children - brings back a few 'mots d'apropos' from time to time. Your post reminded me of the old tortoise and the hare story: "slow and steady wins the race".
Not sure if that's totally relevant, but it seemed like it. Think how glad you'll feel when all these projects are done!

Good luck with all the knitting plans and projects. Must say that the aran looks great from what I can see. Knitters looked great on tv last evening and well done to you all. It looked just as welcoming on tv as it actually is. I love the knitting groups and all the great knitters I've met.
