A holiday postcard for my Irish friends
Warning: The following may reinforce midwest American stereotypes.
So what do you think happens around the dinner table in the evening?
You pass the guns around, of course.
Postscript: Okay, truth be told…we’re staying with friends, one of whom is a policeman. But still…

Oh I remember that happening at my aunt’s and uncle’s…………it still gives me a sick stomach, many handguns and rifles later…………I hope you are enjoying your trip

LOL. Oh yes, one must have a gun to pass at the dinner table.
(This from a woman whose husband (and ex)s own guns…)

Oh, yay. You’re certainly not in the San Francisco area, now, are you? Yikes.

Oh my. But, being from the midwest myself, I’m curious as to the stereotype. Gangsters? Cowboys? Hooligans?

Some dinner party. Eat or else? I’Enjoy anyway. Don’t purchase too much yarn. Looking forward to more interesting postings. I guess if I passed a gun at dinner it would certainly liven things up.

reminds me of a saying by a friend: nothing wrong with guns, just with people who use them! I am just glad that they are (and hopefully stay!) a rare thing in rural ireland….

Prominent news in Irish Times this morning - man shot in head and dumped out of car near shops in Stillorgan - this is about 2 miles from where I live in “peaceful” Dundrum.

Quite a long time between postcards. Hope you haven’t disappeared into the heartland & are now out at the shooting range every day working on your aim, or something.
