Friday Photo Album
It snowed.
For those in the colder climates, this will seem like a negligible blip on the meteorological map, but for constantly-temperate Ireland, it’s an occasion to celebrate.
Like icing sugar, the dusting covers the winter-barren hilltops peeking over the neighbouring Lodge.
Amazing what children can do with a small amount of precipitation.
Needless to say, the Kiddies are bursting with excitement and hoping that school’s closed…

Stefan would be so envious - we had some snow last friday, but the snowman collapsed, when the carrot went in:) and today it’s frosty, but not a drizzle of snow in sight - the sun is out and gleaming away! have a good weekend - the snow probably comes down tonight or tomorrow - just to spite their hopes….

way to go kiddoes!!! Nice snowman. . . . I particularly like the knitted hat addition. (Not to mention the twig arms.) Very cool. Hey - Torre wants to know: did it snow in town or is the snow a living-in-the-mountains plus?

I would be glad to send you some snow from my place! We had 8 inches the night before last. Schools were running 2 hours late so the snow plows could get out and clear the roads. This is our 2nd winter here. Everyone was saying that they got more than they had ever seen last year. It was a piece of cake for me because I came from Idaho and had a lot more snow. This year we are keeping up with Idaho. The kids would be able to make an entire family of snow giants at my house! The deer are coming down off of the mountains and my family of quail that reside under my bedroom window under some bushes are getting some treats from me as food is hard to come by right now. The deer like last years apples particularly well. Have a wonderful snow day!

We (Maine) had about 3 feet on the ground last week and today we see bare spots. Had incredibly warm weather for 3 days and today they are predicting an ice storm. Just can’t win. Enjoy your snowfall. I’ll trade.

In the North Central Plains state of Minnesota, we have had more temperate winters the past few years, and all of the snow bunnies have been crying foul! However, in December it snowed 12.5 inches. That made all of the snow lovers happy. The weathermen predict snow regularly and act very disappointed when it does not snow. However, I am always glad when I don’t have to deal with it!When I first moved here in December, 1989, it snowed every day!

I miss snow. I need to go North again. I think those photos are great and the kiddies did really well with the snowman.

I miss snow, too. I live in Tennessee, and when I was a kid, we would build snowmen every year and slide down the hill in metal pans and on old cookie sheets. I haven’t seen snow on the ground at all for three years, now.
Beautiful pictures, by the way!

How exciting. I love those rare snow falls. I remember as a child how thrilled I was at pulling back those curtains and seeing it all there and ready to play in. Enjoy….

Love the photos as I always do. You are so very creative with that camera lens. Especially loved the snow covered flower. Title for that one would have to be “dreaming of Spring”.

I’m still waiting for snow here in western PA! We had some earlier, before Christmas, but nothing noteworthy since. It’s been unseasonably warm, and I wish it would stop because I’d really like to be able to wear all of my lovely winter sweaters without roasting!

We used to make snowmen when we had about that amount of snow, too. Of course, that usually happened in October or early November, and by a few weeks later we’d have more snow than we knew what to do with.

You make snow sound so beautiful and it is but here in Alberta Canada…..it’s well cold. It was -20 yesterday and cold cold. Sadly the novelity has worn off for me. Knitting never grows old though. Stay warm
