I'm old enough that I well remember pre-internet days, and pre-affordable international long distance calls (or even affordable national calls). Knowing she'll be so far away does have it's concerns (for me), but being able to so easily 'connect' with those on other continents sure makes the transition simpler for not only those making the moves, but also for those being left behind, whichever side of the ocean 'behind' happens to be.
