American postcards for my Irish friends
The last time I visited Washington, DC, I was 12 years old.

You know my favorite part of the Washington Monument is that the color changes midway. As I learned in elementary or middle school history, that was due to the work stoppage that occurred during one of the wars (possibly 1812 - but don’t quote me on that). By the time they restarted and were able to finish construction, the stone had weathered enough that there was a clear demarcation.

Although I’m not overseas, I bid you welcome. I hope your items fly out of the boxes and onto your shelves and you find friends and fellow knitters fast!

Those are some really nice pics! I’ve been to Washington twice, and regardless I am as excited as ever to be going a third time with the rest of my grade next week. Be sure to check out the nurse’s monument near the Vietnam Memorial. It’s a beautiful representation!

There is so much to see and do in Washington! I spent a semester there in college as an intern, and though I was out and about every minute that I could, I still didn’t see the half of it. Enjoy life there!

I’ve never been to that part of the States. New York and Cape Cod, yes. Such a change to your photo of the sheep in the garden, but change can be good. x
