Therapy

Posted by Cheryl on Jun 11 2008 | The Kitchen Sink

Nothing like a bit of last minute shopping to steady the nerves, eh?

I do not have a fetish about shoes.
Not much of the Imelda Marcos in me.
Or so I thought.
Maybe I do.

An impulse buy.
No doubt about it.
Rationalised by thoughts of mere hours until departure.
What if I can’t get them in America?

Clarks.
Lots of unattractively British granny shoes.
But some styles are just so…cool.
Had to have these.

First the wellies and now a second post about shoes.
Guess it is a fetish.
Stormin’ good pic of my feet.
A parting postcard for The Other Four.

    Good luck on your trip!

Love the shoes - they would show off hand knit socks well, too!

  4. I just got the COOLEST Clarks sandals! Not old granny shoes any more, that’s for sure! I want to go back and get them in brown now. I wonder if they’re still there…

  6. Great shoes! I can’t wait to see more pics of the new place when you get there. I’ve already said my goodbyes to your Irish home and life (sob, sob) but am looking forward to living the cottage life vicariously through you!
BTW, I got my hair cut Jamie Lee Curtis short this past Monday, and the beautiful gray is showing through. I love it! My husband still isn’t speaking to me!!

Clarks shoes are available in the US. My local mall has a Clarks shoe store here in San Jose, CA and Nordstoms and Macy’s stock them too around here - so I would imagine they are all over. I shall miss your Irish posts - but look forward to hearing all about your new adventures in DC.
Safe travels to you all …..

VERY cute shoes! Now that you’re back in the US you will have to check out Keens and Skechers. I searched for weeks for a pair of Keens that I had seen in a catalog (but not in the color I wanted). I finally got the Portland Blossoms in Deep Lichen a couple of months ago. Similar Mary Jane style to what you bought.
I am really looking forward to hearing how you settle back in to life in the States. I imagine that it’s got to be rather steamy in the D.C. area, especially after living in Ireland for so long. I will miss the photos from Ireland, but we don’t just read you for that! Hope that move works out really well.

  12. Shoe fetishes for sensible shoes like that are totally allowed. It’s when people buy jewelled stilettos that will break by the third time you’ve found an occasion to wear them that’s a problem. I got some adorable shoes from Clarks recently and I think your wellies are not to be sniffed at either. Long may your shoe fetish live!
