What d’ya do…
…when most aspects of life need immediate attention?
You change your blog format, of course.
Can’t find a thing.
Piles of laundry.
Weeds as tall as my children.
Abject chaos.
A perfect time to sample and dabble in theme changes.
A new look for life in a new-again country.
And here’s where you can help.
I’m in a bit of a dither about the new header photo. During the next week or so…when I should be organising our household…I’ll take some sample photos for a new banner, the felted snake being a temporary measure.
I’d like your input for which photo to choose. Random number generator for comments made will choose the winner of 200grams of straight-from-Ireland-Kilcarra-tweed yarn. Simple enough…and very helpful to me as I’m finding it difficult to make the smallest decisions.
Next task, find the camera.

Isn’t that the way it is—creativity strikes right when I should be doing something else?!!!
I think the felted snake is cool, and am looking forward to the future options, too!

Glad you made it over the pond finally! May settling in go smoothly.
I personally like the felted snake.

Your new “into” to the blog reminds me of a book I just read. It’s called “I’m a Stranger Here Myself” by Bill Bryson. In it he talks about moving back to the US after roughly 20 years in the UK.

Hooray for a safe trip!
I’m moving this weekend, so of course I cast on a new project today and knit for 2 hours instead of packing.
Such is life

I was excited at the thought of getting to vote to help you make a choice even before I even got to the line about your offering yarn to the winning choice. Icing on the cake!

Are we supposed to give impute now? Well, multi pictures would be nice. Then you can interchange photos on the same them or not! Snakes are nice, but you may get tired of the felted snakes after you knit 6 million miles of them or is it kilometers?

That would be theme! To early to type also should be wearing my glasses.

Welcome back — although, leaving Ireland must be the reason behind your ennui! Here is to reacquainting yourself to the city!! I will watch for your photos!

Good luck with the new life. I only found you just before your move.

While I miss the Irish news and the projects, I’ve been enjoying your simple posts. Everything in its time.

Yeah, I’m going to miss the Ireland posts and all those gorgeous pictures of the Irish landscape. But a cottage in Alexandria is a different kind of gorgeous. Bring on the photos!

I think perhaps a photo of the little knit shop you found close to your new home would be nice incorporated into your header done up perhaps in a collage with shots of your new home and interesting shots in the area.
Glad you made the trip safely in spite of your delay.

garden shot with the cottage hazily in the background. That’s my vote.
Welcome here - hope it’s “home” soon!

Perhaps your banner could combine a picture of your cottage in Ireland and a picture of your new home in Virginia.

I like the header you decided on!

I like the mosaic, and I am glad you shared the link. Off to make one myself.

I miss the green of Ireland in your header. Perhaps something green could remain, coupled with something American, to show your two worlds?
I love your blog.

You made it !!! I’m not sure I understand what you need from us…choose a picture ? I like multiple pictures for a banner…

I like most of the pictures that you have up now: the pillow, the chocolate (YUM!), the woven piece. And I like the colors and the squiggliness of the felted snake but it doesn’t really look like anything. Maybe a pic from Ireland would be good!
