What it’s not…

…and what it is.

It’s not a picture from Washington, DC.
It is, though, a photo from our northern Virginia back garden.

It’s not one of the Japanese cherry trees celebrated this week the District.
It is, however, our very own ornamental cherry tree, which we’re taking pleasure in this spring.

  4. So lovely! There was a very fragrant pink tree like that below my bedroom window when I was growing up. Nothing smells more like spring to me. Now, if only spring would arrive …

  8. Beautiful! The flowering fruit trees down here in So. Ga. didn’t bloom as lovely as they usually do. But the dogwoods went all out, for once!

  9. Isn’t it a beautiful time of year here in the DC Metro area. Just think…people travel from world wide to come see our Nation’s Capital and we live right in it’s back door! I getting myself downtown this weekend to be apart of the crowds!

I was born on Andrews AFB and some of the earliest photos I have are of my mother carrying me under the famous cherry blossoms. Thank you for the wonderful reminder.
